Love Is Everywhere

Wilco

Wilco have earned the right to be mellower than they once were. After Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (2002) — famously rejected by their own label, subsequently celebrated as a masterwork — Jeff Tweedy and the band spent twenty years exploring what they wanted to be next. The answer has been mostly warm and unhurried.

Love Is Everywhere, from their 2023 album Cousin produced by Cate Le Bon, finds Wilco in a contemplative mood — a simple declaration that functions as both affirmation and question. Le Bon's production gives the record a slightly uncanny quality that keeps the band from settling into pure comfort.

Twenty-plus years after YHF, Tweedy remains one of the most consistent songwriters in American music. Cousin reminded critics and fans that there's genuine life in this band — not nostalgia, but presence.

"Wilco at their most open-hearted, and still surprising after all these years."
