Just Another Dream

The Professionals were formed from the wreckage of the Sex Pistols — Steve Jones and Paul Cook emerging post-dissolution with a new band and a more straightforward hard rock approach. I Wasn't Born Yesterday (1981) was their one major album, more enjoyable than its pedigree might suggest.

Just Another Dream is classic Jones-Cook: big riff, propulsive rhythm section, vocal hooks delivered with the energy the Pistols brought to chaos but here applied to something more conventional.

The Professionals get overlooked in the Sex Pistols narrative — a footnote to a footnote. But on their own terms, they made a solid hard rock record that deserved more than cult status.
