Wonderlust King
Gogol Bordello are the most exuberant band in New York — a multicultural collective led by Ukrainian-born Eugene Hütz that has been making self-described "gypsy punk" since the late 1990s, blending Eastern European folk, punk rock, and physical energy on stage that has become genuinely legendary.
Wonderlust King, from Super Taranta! (2007), is Hütz at his most celebratory: a violin-driven rush of energy that builds and builds, the vocal delivery between cheerful and desperate, radiating the specific joy of someone who has chosen to live fully rather than carefully.
Gogol Bordello have remained active through two decades and countless lineup permutations. Their live shows are reliably among the most physically intense experiences available in rock music.
"Gogol Bordello make music that makes it impossible not to move."
