Exist in the Repeat of Practice
Raime
Raime are Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead, a London duo who released their debut on Blackest Ever Black — one of the more significant extreme electronic labels of the 2010s — and made a record that felt genuinely dark in a way that most dark music doesn't.
Exist in the Repeat of Practice is characteristic Raime: industrial bass weight, percussion felt more than heard, textural elements suggesting spaces rather than defining them. The music is slow and patient in the way of something that knows it has time.
Raime's catalog is small and uncompromising — a band that made the records they wanted to make, found an audience that deserved them.
"Raime make music that sounds like the feeling of being watched from a distance."
